Well, partly because I want easy access to my favorite news agencies and blogs. But also because I believe that in these tense and difficult times, it is very important that people have access to honest reporting, which is such a crucial part of making wise decisions about what to think about our world. As a Christian, I believe that the Lord commands us not to bear false witness against our neighbor (which includes people, nations, etc.) (Dt.5:20).
